• Installation on Mac OSX from scratch: solving the error #10310 right after installing the pkg from the intel website:

ERROR MESSAGE:
ifort: error #10310: Failed to enable trusted storage check for licensing:
WARNING: Enable Trusted Storage failed (flexnet error code 1).
Trusted Storage based license could not be supported

SOLUTION:

>> cd /opt/intel/.../bin
>> source ifortvars.sh ia32
>> ifort -V

IF THE PROBLEM PERSISTS EACH TIME THAT YOU WANT TO COMPILE IN A NEW TERMINAL,
SIMPLY ADD the FOLLOWING LINE TO YOUR ~/.profile (or ~/.bashrc, or ~/.bash_profile):

source /opt/intel/bin/ifortvars.sh ia32
use intel64 instead of ia32 if you are using a 64bit system (e.g. on a Mac running Snow Leopard)

Problem SOLVED !

IFORT free evaluation (LICENCE RENEWAL !):

How to reset a new licence file after it expired (for ifort version 10.1.024) installed in /opt/intel/fce/10.1.024/ on my Mac:

1] Go to the intel download page and click on the compiler you need (in this case, fortran compiler corresponding to you machine):

http://www.intel.com/cd/software/products/asmo-na/eng/219690.htm#compiler

2] After doing so, you will be re-directed to a registration page: register as required.

3] You will receive an email with a link for download, and ATTACHED you will have a licence file (.lic).
If you already have a previous compiler installed and you only need to re-new your licence do as follows:
  1. Donwload the *.lic file that you received by email
  2. mv it from your download folder to /opt/intel/licenses/ (or equivalente directory where your previous version of compiler was installed): sudo mv /your/download/folder/*.lic /opt/intel/licenses/
  3. Now you should be able to execute ifort as before!
